We think that architecture is a science which objective is to design buildings exclusively, but we must know that it is way more than just that. This paragraph deals with elements that architects must take into account while designing a building, a house or any other kind of structure. Basically there are three areas that architects must keep in mind, first there are the people needs, second is the structural needs and the third is the context in which the structure will be constructed. With these ideas the organization of spaces, size, materials and other elements must be adapted for all of the necessities mentioned before, but still we must be aware that these needs are changing constantly, changing through time, the dynamic of the cities and with any element or phenomenon that involves people, structures or environment. Talking about the people, the author said that buildings are extensions of the skin. Also, exposes that there are basic needs related with people. Physiological needs are one of the elements that influence in the life of the people and are related to design adequate spaces that provide confort to persons. To do these spaces, architects must think about the temperature, ventilation, light, humidity, etc. We also have psychological needs (must provide sense of safety and security) and Sociological needs (ensure the social life of people). The Second area is buildings needs, this part involves structural elements that allows that buildings can stand weight and all activities that people will do inside the building. Finally, the third area is Context and is related with culture (reflect the local culture), environment (not adversely affect the environment) , connections (ensure basic needs like water, light, accessibility, and others), economic (must be economically feasible) and flexible (capacity to changing for the needs). Thanks to this, we could see that architecture is a science that must integrate different kind of needs. The objective is to provide people better spaces to live in and develop their daily activities.
NEEDS OF ARCHITECTURE
We think that architecture is a science which objective is to design buildings exclusively, but we must know that it is way more than just that. This paragraph deals with elements that architects must take into account while designing a building, a house or any other kind of structure. Basically there are three areas that architects must keep in mind, first there are the people needs, second is the structural needs and the third is the context in which the structure will be constructed.
